Lima, the fifth largest city in Latin America, is also one of its most beautiful. Today, watch as the city sights take us from the days of the Spanish conquistadors to present day. We get a glimpse of the Colonial era during a photo stop at the Plaza Mayor. Located in the heart of Lima's historic centre, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its hand-crafted wooden balconies. We see the impressive Cathedral of Lima, whose exterior is dominated by two lovely towers and three large gateways. The plaza is also lined by the Archbishop's Palace, City Hall and the Presidential Palace.
Continuing our drive, we enter the quaint San Isidro district, one of Lima's oldest and most stylish residential neighbourhoods. You'll be glued to your window as one stately mansion after another comes into view, many of which are now embassies, or Lima’s upper class.
At the unique Parque Del Amor in the Miraflores District, we enjoy stunning views over the Pacific Ocean while wandering through sculptures created by one of Peru’s best-known artists. Later, we re-board our motorcoach for the return trip to the pier.
