Hike with two lengths. The long hike starts one hour before the short hike.

This is a truly beautiful walk that starts with a ferry crossing to the other side of the fjord. We walk 2 km along the fjord to the village of Urke, and then we enter the Urke valley. Participants choosing the longest and steepest walk will continue up to Haukåssetra, an old, authentic shieling about 260 metres above sea level, and then down to the port of Urke. Total length of walk app 7-8 km. Participants choosing the shortest walk will start one hour later and do the same walk, except from the steep part. They walk along the Urke River up the valley surrounded by the Sunnmøre Alps, before walking down to the port of Urke. Total length app 4,5 km, and hardly any uphill waking.

The guide will share stories about the mountains, the fjord and the history of the small villages of the Hjørundfjord.

Some of the walk is on asphalt and some on gravel road where it is very easy to walk. Around the shieling we leave the road for a little bit, but it is still quite easy to walk there. Both the long and the short walk end up at the Urke Port house where there will be a small meal that includes: Different hams, potato salad, flat bread, a soft drink, coffee, tea and lefse. From the port a boat will take you back to Sæbø. The boat ride lasts app 15 minutes and is a very nice way to end the excursion.
