Your guided walk begins at Kirkwall’s colourful harbour. A Royal Burgh since 1486, Kirkwall was, in fact, founded by the Vikings. Visit St Magnus Cathedral, a statuesque sandstone building that dominates the town’s skyline. Learn about Kirkwall's fascinating ancestry as you tour nearby Bishop’s and Earl’s Palaces, and Orkney Museum. Then browse the boutiques and craft shops on the high street.
