Meet your tour representative at the cruise ship terminal. A transfer will be provided to the heliport to begin your special adventure. The helicopter ride is only one part of this legendary experience that includes flying over the Juneau Icefield to the dog camp, a kennel tour and an exhilarating dogsled ride.
After take-off, glaciers seem within arm’s reach and glacier-carved mountains unfold in front of your eyes as we fly over the Juneau Icefields to the dog-sledge camp.
Arrive at your destination, the Herbert Glacier, and meet the eager Alaska huskies ready to lead you. Hear unique personal accounts of the Iditarod, take pictures and dress up in original Iditarod Trail dog-sledging gear and finishing bibs.
Feel the excitement as your team of 12-14 dogs is hooked up, and then…you are off! Imagine yourself standing on the runners of a dog-sledge with a team of Alaskan huskies loping across ancient snowfields nestled among the peaks of the vast Juneau Icefield. You can choose to ride the runners or sit comfortably on the sledge for the duration of your ride.
