Your coastal experience
From in-depth lectures to handpicked hikes, our Coastal Experience Team is on hand to enhance your voyage, both on board and on land. Nobody knows the areas we sail along the Norwegian coast better than they do.
Your hosts along the coast
Using their hands-on experience of Norway and the Norwegian coast, our Coastal Experience Team have one mission: to enhance your voyage by offering engaging insights on the nature, wildlife, and culture you encounter along the way.
Learning through lectures
Dedicated to what they do and to the Norwegian coast, the Coastal Experience Team provide an intimate and personal perspective to your journey with us.
Each team member has a range of specialist, well-researched topics in their repertoire – from the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun to local history and wildlife – ready to share with you in lectures and presentations on board, on deck, and ashore.
Local food tasting
Some of these specialist lectures are combined with tastings of seasonal specialties on deck.
Try fresh shrimps in the Lyngenfjord in spring or cloudberries during autumn. In winter we offer freshly cooked fishcakes, while “Trollsoup” is on the menu when we sail into the Trollfjord in summer.
Hikers’ heaven
Norwegians are well known for their love of the outdoors. In fact, their passion is so strong it has its own name: friluftsliv.
While on board, the Coastal Experience Team will encourage you to embrace this uniquely Norwegian notion by taking part in their handpicked hikes and activities. Enjoy learning more about the local region’s history, geology, and culture as you explore with those who know it best.
Seasonal excursions
To further explore Norway, you can choose from a wide variety of seasonal excursions, graded according to four effort levels. Some are more active, while others focus on local history and culture.
These experiences take you on land to see iconic places, such as the famous North Cape and the magnificent Lofoten Islands. If you want more challenging activities, sign up for kayaking, snowmobiling, or dog-sledding.
