Nobody knows this coastline like us, and these are the places and experiences we believe best showcase the iconic flavours, adventures and pristine beauty of Norway’s astounding coast.
A blend of new and historic ports
We’re excited to show you ports that are brand new to our ships, call in on old friends we haven’t seen for many years, and warmly introduce you to some of our enduring favourite places.
And with an average of 6 hours in port, there’s plenty of time to get to know each destination.
The Svalbard Express
The Svalbard Express sees us return to Spitsbergen for the first time since 1988. In addition, three of the 16 destinations are brand-new and exclusive to The Svalbard Express.
- Journey with us back to Ny-Ålesund and Longyearbyen in the Svalbard archipelago, slowing to admire Bjørnøya on the way.
- Senja, Træna and Åndalsnes are new to us.
The North Cape Express
Six of The North Cape Express’s 16 destinations are new to this sailing or places we haven’t visited for a long time.
- We sail from or to Oslo for the first time in our 130-year history.
- Kristiansund & Farsund, Haugesund and Alta are also new to us.
- We return to Lodingen for the first time in many years.
- We also sail through Hardangerfjord for the first time.
Exclusive new excursions
We have worked closely with local activity providers to create an exciting programme of approximately 50 optional exclusive new excursions. It means you get a more authentic flavour of Norway’s coast too.
With an average of three excursions in each port, there’s something for you no matter how active you’re feeling that day. When The North Cape Express calls at Molde, you can join a bus tour along the Atlantic Road. In Norway, Viking history is everywhere so from Haugesund you can travel back to the time ruled by these seafaring warriors on e-bike, bus or RIB. On The Svalbard Express, come face-to-face with Viking history on a medieval homestead visit in Tromsø. Svalbard excursions include dog sledding on wheels or meeting the huskies. There are plenty of opportunities to try fishing in Norway, too.

Compelling onshore activities
Each voyage sails with a four-strong (plus an enthusiastic trainee) Coastal Experience Team. As well as onboard activities, these experienced leaders, including two dedicated nature and culture guides, run a full programme of onshore activities.
In many cases, the same team members sharing their spellbinding stories on board will be the same people taking you hiking, snowshoeing, beach cleaning or on photography walks on shore. At other times, local guides and experts will lead the way, giving you a unique insight into their worlds.
We also travel with a stock of outdoors equipment, such as fishing gear, snowshoes and traditional skis, for use on activities led by the Coastal Experience Team. Members of the team can show you how to use the equipment if you’re not sure. And if you’d rather explore by yourself, don’t forget to ask the Team for their recommendations on the best things to do in Svalbard and all along the Norwegian coast.
