  • Learn fishing techniques from a local expert

  • Get close to nature and experience the raw elements

  • A chance to see sea eagles

  • Enjoy an authentic and exclusive experience

After leaving the ship, you’ll meet the fisherman at the pier Sjøvegen 18. Here, you’ll receive important equipment and information that will help you stay safe during the trip. After putting on windproof overalls and boarding the fisherman’s boat, you’ll be ready to go fishing.

Enjoy the scenery as the boat drifts across clear waters and listen carefully as the fisherman shares useful techniques that have been learnt over several years of work. Get hands-on experience as you learn how to bait, hook, and reel in the fish. Experience the thrill of a successful catch and learn how to gut the fish. If you’re lucky, a hungry sea eagle might come looking for food from you.

A fishing trip with the local Lødingen fisherman wouldn’t be complete without authentic local stories. The fisherman will tell some of these along the way, helping you to get an insight into local culture and everyday life. These are stories that you won’t soon forget, and no doubt you’ll want to pass them on to others when you return home from your voyage.

After almost an hour of fishing, learning, and storytelling, you’ll return to the dock and take off your overalls. There should also still be some time for you to explore Lødingen itself before rejoining the ship.
