Mysteries of Easter Island (Post)

Planned Itinerary

Day 1: Valparaíso to Santiago 

After disembarkation in Valparaíso, you'll be taken on a guided sightseeing tour of this colourful city, with its stunning UNESCO-listed historic quarter. Then it's on to your hotel in Santiago de Chile, where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing. 

Day 2: Travel from Santiago to Easter Island 

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport for your flight to Easter Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On arrival, you'll transfer to your hotel, your home for the next three nights. Enjoy lunch at the hotel, before your Easter Island adventures begin with your first included excursion. After, you'll return to your hotel for dinner, and you can spend the rest of the evening at your leisure. 

Day 3-4: Exploring Easter Island 

You’ll spend the next two days discovering the ancient history, culture and mysteries of Rapa Nui, Easter Island. You can choose from a variety of local excursions that include incredible things to do and places to see. You'll enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel. 

See the Seven Explorers, the beautifully preserved human head monoliths that were sacred to the Moai people. Visit Anakena beach where the island's first king landed, or experience the fabled epicentre of our planet’s energy at Te Pito Kura. You can also join guided volcano hikes or bicycle tours. 

Day 5: Return to Santiago de Chile 

After breakfast, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight back to Santiago de Chile where your Post-Programme ends.

• Transfer from Valparaiso to Santiago de Chile, including a Valparaiso City Tour 
• 1 hotel night in Santiago de Chile with breakfast 
• 3 hotel nights on Easter Island with full board and house beverages 
• Return flight from Santiago de Chile to Easter Island, including current taxes and airport transfers 
• 2 half-day excursions daily with an English-speaking hotel guide 
• Entrance fee to the national park

• Meals and drinks on Day 1 and gratuities 

Remarks and requirements 

• This tour is available as a Post-Programme in combination with expedition cruises ending in Valparaíso. 
• This tour includes walking on uneven terrain and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. 
• The excursions included in this tour are operated by the hotel and might not be exclusive to Hurtigruten Expedition guests. 
• Excursions are subject to weather conditions. 
• Depending on your departure flight times from Santiago de Chile, you may need to arrange an additional overnight after the tour. 
• If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to 6 weeks before departure.
