Enjoy an authentic experience of the Argentinian Pampas with a visit to a local estancia or ranch outside of Buenos Aires. We’ll collect you from your hotel and take you to the estancia, where you’ll be welcomed with empanadas, traditional Argentine meat pies. Stroll around the grounds and settle into the slower pace of life. Then take a seat at the table as we all enjoy a traditional asado or barbeque lunch together, including the world-renowned Argentine beef. To keep you entertained while you eat, gauchos in traditional dress will dance to their unique folk music.  

Following lunch, the fun moves on to an open field where you can admire an impressive display of the gauchos’ horse-riding skills (weather dependent).

Remarks and requirements 

  • This excursion is available as Pre-/Post-Programme in combination with expedition cruises starting or ending in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires.   
  • The excursion starts from your hotel in Buenos Aires (available daily, except Mondays, approximately 9am-6pm5pm). This excursion is unavailable 24/25/31 December and 1 January.  
  • Some walking over uneven ground is involved in this tour. Horseback riding may also be available at your own risk and expense. 
  • Available to guests with limited mobility on request. 
  • If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to 6 weeks before departure.
