Day 1: San Diego / Disembarkation

After disembarkation start your 5-hour sightseeing tour to make the most out of your San Diego visit.

Start your adventure with a visit of the Gaslamp District and San Diego Downtown. When development of the area began in the 1860s, the area currently known as the Gaslamp Quarter was known as New Town, in contrast to Old Town, which was the original Spanish colonial settlement of San Diego. Though Gaslamps were not the main source of lighting in the district, it was chosen as the symbol for the "Gaslamp Quarter" during the redevelopment and preservation efforts that occurred during the 1980s. During the tour you will pass highlights of downtown San Diego like Petco Park, San Diego Convention Center, Santa Fe Depot and the waterfront Embarcadero.

Continue your sightseeing with a drive over the award-winning San Diego-Coronado Bridge that quickly became an area landmark after it opened on August 3, 1969. The distinctive curve and soaring sweep of the bridge was the first structural conquest of the Big Bay, joining the island of Coronado and the city of San Diego. The bridge also serves as the perfect gateway between Coronado and the popular neighboring attractions of San Diego.

Next you will drive to Old Town San Diego, the historic heart of San Diego and the first settlement of California, created in 1769 as a fort. Here is the perfect place to spend your free time and wander through lush gardens, browse at one of the many specialty shops for treasures from around the world or have lunch in one of the many local bars or restaurants. Year round, Old Town is the spot for food, folklore, and fun. Celebrate San Diego’s heritage, and bask in early California ambiance.

Continue your day with a visit to the Cabrillo National Monument, which is located at the southern tip of the Point Loma Peninsula in San Diego. The park offers a beautiful view of San Diego's harbour and skyline and on clear days, you will enjoy a wide expanse of the Pacific Ocean. The tour ends in the afternoon at a centrally located hotel in downtown San Diego, leaving the rest of the day at your leisure before your overnight. You might want to take the chance to walk along San Diego Bay, home of the cruise terminal, the Navy Pier and Seaport Village.
