Itinerary for your Pre-Programme:

Day 1

Transfer from the airport to Sintra and free time at the beautiful palace hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, we head to the beautiful Monserrate Palace and gardens which sublime charms were sung by poet Lord Byron. This imposing property was first built in the 18th century and it passed on to several influential and wealthy owners such as William Beckford or Francis Cook. In fact it was the later who turned Monserrate into what reached our century, a 19th century idealism, inspired by his romanticism vision, populated with cascades, romantic ruins, flower gardens and exotic plants from faraway countries, all there for you to discover while strolling around the property grounds.

After that we explore Cape Roca, which forms the westernmost point of mainland Portugal, continental Europe and of the Eurasian land mass. During your voyage you will continue to explore several “Land’s Ends” of Europe.

The second part of this day will be spent in the cosmopolitan town of Cascais, which used to be a small fishing village. Stroll through the cobblestone streets, shops, and the yacht harbour before proceeding to Sintra, here you’ll enjoy a tasteful Portuguese meal. Before returning to your hotel, you will enjoy some free time to explore Sintra’s town centre.

Day 3

Leave Sintra’s luxurious mountains behind and head to Lisbon where your ship awaits you. You will first stop in the historical quarter of Belém and visit Jeronimos Church, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. The building is widely acknowledged to be the finest sight in Lisbon, built in the 16th century to commemorate the discoveries of Portuguese navigators. We will have a photo stop at Eduard VII park, where we’ll enjoy a spectacular view over the city. In Baixa you will walk along the pedestrian area of Augusta Street that connects Rossio to Commerce Square, thought by many to be the most beautiful in Europe. After that your Pre-programme comes to an end and you will head to the pier for embarkation.

Please note that the order of visited sites may vary.
