We’re sailing towards a future that sees more and more people choosing a plant-based diet. No longer a fringe dietary fad, veganism is now a global movement growing at warp speed. For many, it is the future of food; environmentally conscious eating that reduces our carbon footprint while also promising a healthier diet.
It’s possible that with less reliance on meat production, the food industry will be able to dramatically reduce its impact on the environment. In recent years, we’ve seen the development of plant-based vegan alternatives to fish and meat, and our chefs enjoy using these ingredients to bring you delicious vegan options you’ll find on our menu.
From the ground up
While other shipping companies have a few vegan dishes, we have created a completely new way of eating green in Norway's Coastal Kitchen.
As we developed the vegan dishes on our menu, we took great care to make sure that each not only looked good and tasted good but that they were also healthy. Our culinary taskforce put a strong focus on creating nutritious dishes that incorporate locally sourced Norwegian ingredients as much as possible.
The resulting plant-based dishes have been integrated into our main menu. For every lunch and dinner aboard the ship, you’ll have three sumptuous plant-based options to choose from.
You can expect delicious dishes such as bean stew, nut roast, beetroot bourguignon, Old Norse mushroom stew, plant-based cheesecake, and vegan chocolate mousse. We have marked vegan dishes with a discreet vegan label so you can easily find them on the menu.
