This tour is a fantastic chance to learn about the history of Cape Verde in general and Santiago Island as well as to “feel the flavour” of the fantastic island and its traditions. 

Depart from Port of Praia In the Cidade Velha you will visit the Fortress of S. Filipe, built by orders of Filipe the I, King of Portugal and Spain. 

Here in the village you will also visit the “Pelourinho”, a mark on the history of slavery and the commerce of salves. On the main square you have time for refreshment on your own. Before heading back, you will still pass by “Rua Banana” where you will be able to see the old stone houses and visit a local shop of handicrafts.  Enjoy some free time to stroll around and relax with the views of the Ocean from the beach or just from a Local Bar.
