Meals on the trip: Warm meal (stew) with warm drinks, plus a non-alcoholic shot in the ice bar.
Clothes/Footwear: Dress according to the season. Layers are recommended. Wool socks, wool thermal base layers and winter trousers/jackets are required. Please note the weather in Tamokdalen is colder than Tromsø due to the inland location.
With dog sledding, ice domes and majestic reindeer, this tour is the ultimate Tromsø bucket list.
You’ll travel to the wilderness centre at Camp Tamok, set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley. When you arrive, you’ll change into your provided gear and get a demonstration on how to steer a dog sled. In a team of two, you’ll then drive the sled as the huskies pull you along the frozen landscape.
After dog sledding, you’ll visit the famous Tromsø Ice Domes that house an ice bar, ice cinema, ice suites and ice restaurant. With themes ranging from Sami culture to Northern Lights, the domes boast beautifully coloured lighting and wonderful ice sculptures. You’ll take a guided tour and learn about the construction process of these magnificent buildings, as well as enjoy a complimentary, non-alcoholic shot at the ice bar and a warming, hot lunch.
Finally, we’ll introduce you to the centre’sown herd of reindeer.
