Nature Reserve Gjesværstappan.
Idyllic Fishing Village with panoramic view of Islands.
Level 1: Easy - suitable for most people
The wildlife excursion starts from Skarsvåg by bus to the fishing village of Gjesvær, with approximately 130 inhabitants. The journey continues from Gjesvær with MS "Havsula" or MS "Lundekongen" to the nature reserve - 15 km west of North Cape. This nature reserve has one of the largest bird colony rocks in Northern Norway, located west of the North Cape. It is not allowed to set foot on the bird rocks, but from the boat you can observe our region’s largest colony of puffins and large amounts of kittiwakes, gannets, shags and cormorants. Sea eagles can be observed while soaring high in search of prey. The tour ends back at the harbour in Skarsvåg.
