Crossing three islands of ever-changing but always beautiful scenery, the first stop is the Lofotr Viking Museum, a site still surrounded by farmland, just as it was in the Viking Era. This living museum features a reconstruction of the biggest Viking longhouse found anywhere in the world. The weapons in the longhouse are all replicas, so you can play Viking to your heart's content! Those of you less inclined to take up arms can admire the skill that has gone into recreating the world of a thousand plus years ago, or the skills still on display by the various craftspeople. The archaeological finds from the site are housed in a separate building where you will also find the souvenir shop, a café and other displays.
