At the Tromsø Villmarkssenter, you can get to know and become fond friends with adorable Alaskan huskies.
The Tromsø Villmarkssenter has been a family-run dog sledding kennel for 30 years. Started by dog sled racer Tove Sørensen, the centre is set in beautiful surroundings and home to around 200 huskies, including professional race team dogs. While visiting the centre, you’ll learn about sledding, breeding and the welfare of these magnificent animals. You can also delve into the history of the centre’s competitive race teams by watching their own movie. The huskies have competed in some of the world’s toughest dog sledding competitions, including Europe’s longest race, Finnmarksløpet, and the world’s longest, the Iditarod in Alaska.
The highlight of the trip is meeting the beautiful huskies in their puppy enclosure, and there will be lots of time to meet, greet and pet these majestic dogs. Finally, you can enjoy coffee and homemade cake, rounding off the perfect, relaxing afternoon.
