This walking tour will show you the old and new parts of Bergen. We visit the modern landmarks as well as the old wooden wharves, cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways. Bergenhus Fortress, St. Mary’s Church (dating back to the 11th century) and the famous Fish Market are some of the sights you will see.
We will take a closer look at the wooden wharves of Bryggen, dating back to the 14th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you will learn about the medieval Hanseatic League’s operations in Bergen.
We also pass statues of such famous Norwegians as Henrik Ibsen and Edvard Grieg, and you get an overview of their interesting lives and work.
