The island was the seat of one of Norway’s most powerful noble families. Pass the marble Giske Church - dating back to around 1150 it once was the Giske family’s chapel. Experience the island of Godøy, with the picturesque fishing village of Alnes facing the Atlantic Ocean. Relax with coffee and homemade cake by the lighthouse - and maybe you would like to go all the way to the top? The view is splendid ! Before returning to Ålesund we will go to Mount Aksla to enjoy the breath-taking views of the town, the surrounding mountains and Islands.
