We start with a walk through Ålesund. The town’s architecture is as colourful as it is beautiful and you can see Ålesund’s strong maritime traditions first hand. We will walk to a local brewery where we get to taste a selection of beers. On the way back to the ship we will pass the pedestrian zone and the picturesque fishing harbour Brosundet where the fishermen sell their catch directly from their boats.

The town was ruined by a fire one winter night in 1904, leaving 10,000 people homeless. During a period of three years, the entire town centre was rebuilt in this unique, Art Nouveau, style with a myriad of turrets, spires and medieval ornaments.
