The visit at Lofotr is approximately one hour long
Today, we’ll visit the Lofotr Viking Museum, where a reconstruction of the largest Viking building ever found has been built. Here, you can see artifacts dating all the way back to 500 AD, which is when the original building, the Chieftain’s house, was established. It was inhabited until around 900 AD, and in the rebuilt version, the Viking diet, lifestyle, and religion has been faithfully recreated for you to experience.
After having time to look around the longhouse and the exhibits, the Chieftain and the Lady of the House will invite you to join them for an authentic Viking meal in the banquet hall. Watch in awe as your Viking hosts make sacrifices to the Norse Gods, praying for good health, prosperity, and that the sun will return to avoid Ragnarok, the end of the world. After the Viking meal, served with traditional mead, you’ll travel by bus to Svolvær and rejoin your ship.
