Join us on a half-day adventure that takes you to the seaside town of Pubnico where you will experience L’ Acadie, the historic Acadian village of Nova Scotia.
Situated on a beautiful 17-acre site overlooking Pubnico harbour, the historical Acadian Village of Nova Scotia invites you to step back in time and discover the heart, life and work of the Acadians in the early 1900s.
Visit the old cemetery, with its timeworn tombstones dating to the early 1800’s, enjoy free time to browse the gift shop, filled with unique handmade crafts, and see vintage Acadian buildings.
Re-board your coach and venture to the Argyle Township Court House & Gaol, which is Canada’s oldest standing courthouse, built in the village of Tusket in 1805. Operated as a working courthouse and jail from 1805 until 1944 and opened as a museum was declared a National Historic Site in 2005.
Continue your journey to the Cape Forchu light station, the first ‘apple core’ style lighthouse in the region. While on site, visit the light keeper’s house, a heritage property and home to the interpretive and information centre, the well-groomed grounds, or stroll the scenic walkway where you may explore the history of the light, Cape Forchu and its people.
