Our knoweldgeable guide will take you on a discovery walk to explore the beautiful town of Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Enjoy thought provoking talks and dive into the culture and history of this welcoming community. One of the defining landmarks in Stykkishólmur are the old houses which reside in the old city center and this is reflected in the atmosphere – it sometimes feels like a place from a different time. After a walk from the pier up to the fascinating church you will be rewarded with a picturesque viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the town and the fjord. The adjacent Breidafjordur is the largest active eider duck nesting area in the world. The tour will end at the Eider Down Center for a short visit where you will learn more about the tradition of eiderdown farming.
