On this guided tour, we will drive through Gijón, the oldest and the most-populated town of Asturias.
Along the way you will see the major attractions of the city, such as the former Labour University of Gijón, an amazing architectural complex inspired by the ‘Herreriano' style (from the Spanish Renaissance) but built in the mid-20th century, the soccer stadium 'El Molinón', Isabel la Catolica Park, and San Lorenzo beach.
After the panoramic tour, we stop at the marina of Gijón. This place is ideal to start our walking tour through the old town.
You will see the main squares of Gijón, the lovely Marqués Square and Revillagigedo Palace, Plaza Mayor with its beautiful Town Hall, and Campo Valdes, where the parish of San Pedro stands. You will also climb the charming narrow streets of Cimadevilla, the former fishermen quarter, to Cerro de Santa Catalina, where you discover the sculpture 'El Elogio del Horizonte' by Chillida.
Before enjoying some free time for shopping, you are treated to a cider tasting accompanied by three types of traditional Asturian dishes at a tavern in Cimadevilla.
