Level 4: Challenging - good mobility and fitness needed
Guests should wear flat, comfortable shoes and dress according to weather
The rugged crags north of Lysekil provided shelter and raw material for hundreds of families dependent on making curbstones for export to European cities. One hundred years later the poor dwellings of local stone masons and a few fishermen have been transformed into quaint summer houses on the water’s edge.
Begin your tour by meeting your private local biking guide at the pier. Together you’ll board a vehicle which will take you on a short transfer to the awaiting MTB bikes where you will have a safety demonstration and practice basic techniques.
We will ride on gravel, grass and on the naked granite crags. Every now and then we will have to share local routes with cars to get us between areas with different nature types. You will ride on old roads through abandoned quarries, passing local farms with fields, harbours, and pristine crags, still untouched by humans.
Take a moment to embrace the smell and sounds of nature. We will make several short stops along the way to refuel. Weather permitting, we will take a break on the granite plateau while enjoying the 360° view. A last photo stop upon returning to Lysekil, to enjoy the view of the archipelago and the area we just left behind.
Remarks/requirements: Guests should wear flat, comfortable shoes and dress according to weather.
Walking information: Approx. 500 meters on flat, gravel and nature terrain.
