Your motor coach will take you south to visit the Royal Delft’s Bleu factory “The Porceleyne Fles”. During your visit here, you will enjoy a guided tour where you can watch the age-old process involved in creating the world famous Delft porcelain. Artists will demonstrate the detailed hand-painting of Delft earthenware that makes each piece a work of art. While its competitors have resorted to mass production, this factory has been faithfully producing porcelain in the traditional way since it was founded in 1653. You can browse or purchase items from the gift shop before returning to your coach for the short drive to the city of Delft.
Enjoy a short guided walking tour of Delft through the narrow streets of this charming 17th century city of canals, cobbled alleys and gabled houses. Although most famous for its celebrated blue and white porcelain, Delft holds an important place in Dutch history as the site of William the 1st of Orange’s assassination and the birthplace of the famous Dutch painter Vermeer.
Then, enjoy some free time before driving further on to the Hague, (Den Haag) on a guided coach tour. Pass the Dutch Government building, the spectacular Peace Palace, the International Court of Justice, and other interesting buildings and sights before your coach takes you back to the ship.
