Port Antonio is a quaint seaside town, rich in history and once a retreat for the likes of Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, and other movie stars and celebrities. Depart from the port and enjoy a scenic tour where you’ll see some of this area’s highlights, in addition to beautiful tropical plants, banana tree firms, and palms.
Your first stop will be at Bonnie Hill, where you’ll begin your scenic tour with the opportunity to take in and photograph one of the best views on the island.
Next is Folly’s Point, where you’ll learn about this unique Port Antonio lighthouse, built in 1888 and visible for 13 miles. You will continue on to beautiful Frenchman’s Cove, where you’ll find a stunningly beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. In the ‘60s, this famous beach and hotel drew jetsetters from around the world.
One of your last stops will be the famous Blue Lagoon, well known as one of Jamaica’s most beautiful sights. Here, sea water from the Caribbean and freshwater springs join together, with shades of blue and turquoise surrounded by lush green. Look closely and you’ll find the lagoon seems to change color.
Your last stop before returning to the ship will be at the Boston Jerk Center, where you can purchase lunch from the food stands. As you wrap up your tour, perhaps you’ll be in the mood to try typical Jamaican Jerk cooking, flavoured with a uniquely local—yet world famous—mix of spices.
