The Vikings founded Waterford City some 1,100 years ago and it had extensive trading links with Viking settlements overseas. Later, in the year 1170, the city was taken by the Normans who sealed their victory by the marriage of their leader Strongbow to Aoife, daughter of the King of Leinster. Transfer to the city by motor coach and learn the history of this fascinating city as your guide walks you through the narrow winding streets. Enjoy free time to visit the bishop’s palace and the Medieval museum before returning to the ship by coach.
Walking distance covered is approx. 1,5 km just under 1 mile and at guests discre- tion during their free time. This excursion is not suiteable for guests wtih walking difficulties. Wheelchairs can be accomodated if guests are mobile enough to step in and out of the motor coach and they need to have someone with them to assist.
