Departing the pier, travel to a coastal location to meet your local Clean Coasts volunteer. Before beginning your clean up, get a brief introduction to the area and the work that Clean Coasts do. Clean Coasts are a non profit organisation and with the assistance of vounteers, they engage with communities in the protection of Ireland's beaches, seas and marine life. Surrounded by water, the island of Ireland is over 84,000km² and has some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. Today you will get the chance to visit one of these and learn about the important work that Clean Coasts do, and take part in these projects yourself. With the aid of a hand picker, gloves and bag, you will partake in a beach clean up as your volunteer walks you through the landscape.
