Cruise across the Eastern Passage towards Deadmans Island, keeping your eyes on the sky to catch a glimpse of some of Alaska’s famous birdlife. This small island is home to a population of nesting eagles that can often be glimpsed soaring above the waters near Wrangell.
Depending on conditions, we will attempt to make a nature landing along the shoreline to come face to face with this unique landscape and its vibrant nature. Bear, moose, and deer may be spotted in the region, and in summer months the area’s rivers and creeks come alive with leaping salmon making their way upstream to spawn. Step ashore and admire the beautiful natural scenery, before returning to the expedition boats for the return trip to Wrangell.
