Notices
Layers, raingear, good walking shoes/hiking boots.
Guests are transported for a 15-20 minute drive through town and onto Zimovia Highway to the trailhead. They are encouraged to take the walking sticks we offer, as the trail itself is a narrow wooden boardwalk with many steps. This hike is a shorter, slower version of the High Country Hike and guides will focus more on the flora and fauna of the area as well as the history of Wrangell and its people. It winds 0.6 miles through the Tongass National Forest up to the first platform, where guests can take a break and take photos of the waterfall. The trail continues another 0.2 miles to the second platform, which looks down over the waterfall and provides views of the Inside Passage and its islands (weather permitting). Guests will return to the trailhead the way they came, again stopping along the way to point out plants or wildlife of interest.
