Your driver-guide tells you the history of Juneau's gold rush as we depart downtown en route to the Mendenhall Valley. See how the mighty Mendenhall Glacier shaped the Juneau area and learn about its history. Take a few moments to enjoy a picturesque stop at Brotherhood Bridge where the glacier-fed Mendenhall River rushes by full of glacial silt.
Next you're off to the Rainforest Gardens. Tour the colourful lower garden with its amazing, designed landscapes and cascading stream, and hear the history behind the garden's notorious upside-down trees.
The tour guide will then escort your group onto a covered shuttle for a mile-long, narrated rainforest adventure. Long daylight hours make for stunning forest displays as you wind your way to an elevation of 175 metres. From this bird’s eye view, you can soak in breathtaking views of the Mendenhall Valley, Chilkat Mountains and Gastineau Channel
