Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers according to weather.
You will be provided with a map of the area and can wander throughout the Fort at leisure and interact with guides in six specific interpretive stations. These stations will highlight the fascinating history and culture of gold rush Alaska, the Tlingit tribe, the Fort, and the town of Haines. A walk-through outdoor art exhibit, buildings on the national register of historical places, art galleries, totem poles, a replica Tlingit long house, old military equipment, The Alaska Indian Arts Center and much more are along the route.
