In-depth Antarctica & Patagonia Expedition (Southbound)
In-depth Antarctica & Patagonia Expedition (Southbound)
Come with us as we explore beautiful fjords along the Chilean coast, continuing down to the untouched icescapes of Antarctica in its late spring for a truly unforgettable adventure.
The fabulous landscapes of Patagonia
Your expedition cruise starts in Valparaíso and takes you south along the scenic Pacific coast of Chile. We’ll sail through the fabled waters of Patagonia, to charming and secluded villages and towns like Castro and Puerto Edén, before we continue through the natural maze of the breathtaking Chilean fjords to the southernmost tip of South America. From here on out, sea and weather conditions can be unpredictable. That’s why we don’t have a fixed itinerary. If wind, weather or ice make a planned landing tricky, we adapt our expedition to give you the best experience at that time. We may attempt a landing at Cape Horn if winds and waves are favourable. If not, we’ll start our crossing of the Drake Passage.
The White Continent
You get to spend seven days celebrating late spring in Antarctica. Watch lovesick penguins splashing and courting to attract their mates. Gaze at an infinite horizon of ice and snow and see icebergs in pristine condition. You’ll fall in love with this frozen yet uniquely beautiful world by joining the Expedition Team in lectures, landings and ice-cruising, as well as optional activities like kayaking or maybe even camping.
